Christ has given the offices of elder and deacon to the church. Elders occupy the sole office of governance and are called to teach, oversee, care for, and protect the flock entrusted to them by the Lord. Deacons provide for the various needs of the church through acts of service. God gives these and other people as gifts to serve and equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Eddie Jammer

Eddie, along with his wife Lynda, have been members at Crossway since 1995; their six children have grown up with the Crossway family. Eddie served in the Air Force for 23 years as an Aircraft Mechanic before retiring from active duty in 2004, when he continued his career in the commercial world of aviation.

Since becoming a Christian, Eddie has enjoyed serving the Lord as he serves others and the church in any capacity. From greeting at the doors and moving people in and out of homes, to many years of setting up and tearing down chairs and equipment in temporary meeting places until we found our permanent home here in Crestview, Eddie finds great delight in serving with his children and grandchildren alongside him. He enjoys traveling to new places, hiking, running, and biking.

Eddie’s favorite verses are Phil 2: 3-4: Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Current members of CrossWay Community Church are urged to participate in the identification of deacons.  Members making recommendations should be regular participants in church life and be in good standing with the church (not in a church discipline process). To recommend a deacon candidate, please follow the instructions found on the Deacon Recommendation Form.
